The coalition for elections is created when there are elections; for today, the base case for each of the opposition groups is to start alone – Poland2050 leader Szymon Hołownia said on Monday. He added that he “got the impression” that Donald Tusk had decided he was “going alone”.

There is no art in forming a coalition of any kind a year and a half before the election and seeing it crumble in six months due to external and internal pressures

Coalition? “Certainly not now”
He stressed that “the electoral coalition should be made when there are elections”. When asked if this meant that if there was a coalition between Poland and PSL, it would be a few months before the election at most, Hołownia replied:
Certainly not now.
It seems to me that we should all be honest and say that today, whatever we think, the base case for each of us is to start alone, everyone on his list
– said Holownia, confirming that this would mean four opposition lists.
However, he made a reservation that “at the beginning of the year will come a time when we will all have an in-depth assessment of this reality, which will then be nine months before the election and make final tactical decisions.”
