In Sevastopol, a concerning incident unfolded when a school-age boy unexpectedly opened fire on a television presenter as the pair moved along a public street. The seizure of attention happened in a matter of moments, with local observers reporting the event on social channels shortly after it occurred. The televised figure at the center of the scene was Mikhail Pautov, a recognizable face in regional media, who was walking past homes on Music Street when a gunshot pierced the air. The impact left him with a chest wound, but the protective down jacket seemingly mitigated the severity of the injuries. Emergency responders were quickly alerted, and law enforcement started a meticulous scene examination to determine the origin of the shot. The incident prompted a swift police response, and investigators traced the shot to a window from which the gunfire was believed to have originated. Through careful forensics and on-site questioning, authorities identified the shooter as a local schoolboy who had reportedly received an airsoft gun as a New Year gift. The teenager’s decision to deliberately test the weapon on pedestrians sparked a rapid, tense interaction with the victim as well as bystanders. In a subsequent interaction, the journalist chose not to pursue formal action, with the belief that the boy had expressed remorse and agreed not to repeat the behavior, a decision that allowed authorities to move forward with follow-up inquiries and safety assurances for the community. The incident has prompted discussions about youth access to airsoft devices and the need for vigilance in monitoring weapons that can be mistaken for real firearms. Meanwhile, officials reported a separate security concern in the Chelyabinsk region, specifically in the Academy Riverside microdistrict. In that case, an unfamiliar individual was observed firing upon the windows of multiple apartments and parked vehicles. Despite the heavy local attention and ongoing patrols, investigators remained unable to identify the intruder responsible for these actions. The persistent nature of this mystery has prompted calls for enhanced neighborhood watch measures and a review of building security protocols to deter similar offenses in the future. Residents were advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities promptly. (Source: regional police updates and incident logs)

Overall, the incidents in Sevastopol and Chelyabinsk underscore the importance of youth safety, responsible handling of non-lethal replica firearms, and the need for rapid, coordinated responses from law enforcement when public safety is at risk. Public communication from officials emphasized the value of calm, accurate reporting and the necessity of avoiding overreactions while ensuring that victims receive proper medical evaluation and support. Community leaders and safety advocates used these events to advocate for clearer regulations around airsoft gear, better education for young people regarding the consequences of firearm misuse, and strengthened security measures in densely populated urban areas to reduce the chances of similar occurrences in the future. Mazón and Puig accused of infidelity over popular nomination deadlines

In recent remarks, Rubén Ibáñez, who oversees the economy for the popular group in parliament, criticized Puig for what he described as severe mismanagement. He argued that Puig has damaged the Valencian Community and left the Generalitat with serious financial strain after assessing the accounts and the difficult situation left by the Consell under Puig.

Ibáñez asserted that Puig’s approach increases debt, widens the deficit, and raises taxes. He claimed these conditions are visible in real time and that every day Puig remains at the Generalitat the red numbers rise. He urged Puig to reflect and acknowledge the electoral loss, urging an end to what he called a chaotic administration in Palau.

Specifically, Ibáñez reminded everyone that the fiscal gap in 2022 stood at 3,206 million euros and that the 2022 budget promises in October 2021 were said to reduce the gap fourfold. He warned that the public treasury has become precarious and that since Puig took office the budget deficit has surpassed 13,001 million and the debt has increased by 15,400 million euros.

He noted that at the start of 2022 the treasury held 2,246 million, by year’s end it had fallen to 462 million, representing a loss of more than 79 percent. In April 2023 the treasury was at 160 million, and Ibáñez pointed out that the Generalitat would need about 600 million euros each month just to meet payroll.

social policy

Ibáñez continued to detail the mounting numbers. He stated that Puig left 2,621 million euros unpaid, of which 1,280 million were aid obligations, constituting 49 percent of the remaining arrears. He added that another 1,263 million euros of bills were left outstanding and stored in drawers, meaning that nearly 3.9 billion euros would need to be paid in 2023 for unpaid items and those hidden away.

He noted that in social policy the Generalitat left 1,207 million euros allocated for education, health, housing and equality without execution. He claimed only 45 percent of the investment budget was realized and that adviser Arcadi Spain did not disclose a debt of 8,400 million, which was higher than what the ministry initially reported.

According to Ibáñez only 27.3 percent of the budget was spent on health, 6.5 percent on equity, 0.7 percent on housing and 17 percent on education. In short, about half of the 2022 expenditures went to social policies, with Puig’s council overseeing the rest.

He warned that the deficit, debt and taxes had all climbed to 3,700 million, squeezing Valencians and making ends meet increasingly difficult. He argued that the winners in this scenario were Puig and his team, while future debts would become a burden for new generations.

Ibáñez claimed the money did not flow into social policies but into the public sector, which consumed all resources and showcased more ministries and more staff. He criticized Puig for stifling the future of Valencians by passing the burden onto others and called for real control over public accounts. He urged an end to unfettered spending at Palau and demanded that Puig leave office. He urged the abandonment of unchecked spending and a move toward greater accountability in public finances.

Ibáñez asserted that future measures should focus on improving efficiency in public spending, reforming the public sector, and lowering taxes. He emphasized the need for tighter control and better efficiency in the management of public accounts.

election result

Campaign manager Miguel Barrachina of the PPCV urged commitment from all sides and asked PSPV to stop clinging to seats that no longer reflect Valencians’ will. He suggested that the sooner the region adapts to the voters’ wishes, the better. He warned that Valencia could be among the last regions in Spain to renew leadership and offered little justification for delays.

Addressing Bravo, Barrachina criticized the concentration of power in one individual who holds both executive and legislative roles as vice-president. He urged Bravo to use the remaining time in parliament to forward documents that have been awaited for more than a year, enabling a court to finish the file on a 1.2 million euro appropriation matter involving Francis Puig. He said the legislature is nearing its end and has not delivered the documents requested by the court. Barrachina urged Puig and Bravo to stop monopolizing positions and heed the Valencians’ will by stepping down as soon as possible. The question of election results remains pending for Puig, Torró and Bravo.

Finally, Barrachina stated that the region should attract investors by shortening terms, cutting bureaucracy, and reducing taxes. He emphasized that potential investors are looking for clearer terms and a smoother regulatory environment.
