Two people were arrested in Madrid after the death of a 45-year-old Colombian worker who was electrocuted near Paseo de la Ermita del Santo
Two men were detained on Wednesday in connection with the fatal accident that claimed the life of a 45-year-old Colombian man. The incident occurred along Paseo de la Ermita del Santo in the Carabanchel district, where makeshift stands are being erected ahead of San Isidro festivities in the capital.
The two detainees are the owners of the company where the deceased was employed. A man born in 1972 and his son, born in 1995, are both Spanish nationals. Investigators have charged them with illegal contracting and reckless manslaughter, according to initial reports from authorities.
The occupational accident happened around 10 a.m. at number 79 on Paseo de la Ermita del Santo. The 45-year-old Colombian man died after being electrocuted while on site, with investigators still examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
In that residential area, temporary structures are being set up for the San Isidro celebrations, which are scheduled to begin in the coming days.
