The emergency services of Gran Canaria have been searching since 8:00 p.m. on Friday for two 17-year-old minors who disappeared off the coast at Las Coloradas in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The families of the teenagers reported the incident that night after learning that the youths would be fishing near the El Confital area. The search began immediately, with a difficult access zone prompting a rapid deployment of responders. Firefighters from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria brought a drone unit and were joined by military personnel and the Local Police. They recovered belongings that may belong to the two teenagers, signaling a potential lead in the case.

Early on Saturday, the operation was resumed with a broad response that includes Maritime Rescue resources, the Group of Emergencies and Rescue known as GES, the Air Rescue Service, Local Police, Firefighters from Las Palmas, National Police, and the Civil Guard. According to Civil Guard reports, maritime commandos have moved the Río Ara patrol boat to the area. The Special Underwater Activities Group, GEAS, is conducting underwater search dives throughout the day, weather and sea conditions permitting.
