Elche has become a notable partner of entrepreneur Vicente García, a figure connected to the Inditex landscape. The collaboration spans ownership and successful ventures in hospitality, extending beyond fine dining into popular consumer segments such as coffee shops. The Bombón Boss chain holds a majority stake, and at the start of 2020 the group pursued an ambitious expansion plan through its holding company Promociones Azarbe, aiming to multiply the company’s turnover several times over the following years.
In the most recent figures, the chain reported a 51% surge in revenue for the previous year, reaching 11.16 million euros according to accounts filed with the Trade Registry. Net profit rose to 401,060 euros, reflecting a 76% year-over-year increase as shown in the balance sheets. Management attributes these gains to an accelerated opening plan that has extended the brand’s footprint across eleven provinces, including Andalusia, the Valencian Community, the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, Madrid, Galicia, and the Basque Country.
Marta Ortega’s empire in Alicante: 50% of Tempe and more than 3,000 jobs
In 2020 the chain opened three new establishments, marking a notable milestone for the company’s expansion strategy in the Spanish market. The following year witnessed eight additional market entries, with the Basque market and Pontevedra among the new locations. Last year brought five more store openings. A standout development was the Bombón Boss x Lefties collaboration, integrating a coffee shop within one of Inditex’s clothing stores, a concept aimed at attracting a younger audience while leveraging the synergy with the fashion brand.
A photograph from the Plaza de Luceros location in Alicante showcases the Bombón Boss concept in a key urban setting. The image highlights the store’s design and the brand’s presence in a busy shopping district, linking fashion retail with quick-service coffee experiences. The collaboration between the retail and hospitality sectors has created a model that helps both brands improve the shopping experience for customers, particularly through digital dressing rooms and related innovations that enhance convenience and engagement. This approach has been replicated in Madrid, Granada, Girona, and the latest Lefties store in Valencia on Colón street, occupying the former El Corte Inglés building.
More openings
Looking ahead, the expansion pace shows no sign of slowing. The company reports the opening of eleven new cafés in 2023, with expectations to surpass turnover records in the current year. The network now totals forty stores, reflecting a strong footprint across major regions and cities.
From a human resources perspective, the workforce grew by approximately 15% in the previous year, culminating in a staff complement of 371 employees, including a gender distribution of 302 women and 69 men.
Tempe’s trajectory continues to be notable, with the brand recording a turnover peak amid a broader recovery of Inditex-related sales. The first Bombón Boss location opened in 1992 at the Eroski shopping center in Orihuela. The García Peralta family, a long-standing partner, stood behind the company’s early growth, and by 2020 the majority shares were held by the larger corporate group. This arrangement aligns Tempe with Inditex, which manages supply for all chain stores associated with the textile conglomerate founded by Amancio Ortega. In June 2022, García Peralta acquired the remaining shares to own 100% of the coffeehouse chain, completing a full ownership transition that solidified Tempe’s strategic direction in the coffee and quick-service sector.
