Former participant of Gran Canaria and the show The Island of Temptations, Suso Olivares, faces accusations of raping a minor in southern Gran Canaria. A regional Instruction Court No. 2 has also condemned the man from Telde for assaulting his girlfriend in November of last year.

According to the complaint filed with the prosecutor, Olivares could receive an 11-year prison sentence. The allegation centers on the sexual assault of a girl under 17 in Mogán, a locality in Puerto Rico, in April 2018.

The case further claims that he sexually assaulted a young Dutch woman with the help of another friend and that he recorded the incident without her consent.

The hearing is scheduled for June 3, and Olivares could face eleven years in prison, a ban from holding public office for six years, a prohibition from approaching the victim within 500 meters, and a ban on contacting her for 15 years. Additionally, he could be subjected to six years of probation and required to participate in education, employment, and sex-education programs. If convicted, he may be ordered to pay 20,000 euros in compensation to the victim for both physical injuries and moral damages.

He shot his ex-partner

Olivares, who was planning to marry Paola López, his former partner with whom he shares children, saw the wedding annulled in what surprised many. López, a model who won Miss Universe Spain in 2018 and had been linked to Gran Canaria, posted a video on social media detailing alleged abuse by the former Telecinco participant.

In the video, López recounts: “On July 20, 2023, my partner grabbed me by the neck, threw me onto the bed, and tried to strangle me with a cloth. Since it wasn’t the first time I faced such violence, I decided to record the incidents. I also decided to speak out about the situation.” López adds that she chose to stay silent at first to protect herself and her unborn child. She notes that she later faced ongoing fear and danger, saying, “My neighbors helped me at a critical moment on November 3, 2023, when I felt that my life and my baby’s life were in jeopardy.”

She describes ongoing fear and the sense that both her life and the life of her baby were at risk, highlighting the impact of the alleged violence on her daily life and wellbeing.
