Retirees who receive premium-free benefits may also qualify for an additional 525 euros to help cover housing costs. This supplementary payment targets individuals whose income falls below 50 percent of the Social Minimum Indicator (SMI).

  • Recognition of non-contributory Social Security retirement or disability benefits at the application and decision dates.

  • Not owning a home.

  • Be the owner of the rented dwelling under a rental agreement.

  • There should be no marriage or close family ties up to the third degree with the landlord.

  • The rented residence must be established as the normal home. The rental period should be at least one year, and residents must have lived there for at least 180 days prior to the application date.

This aid is administered by local authorities, so applicants should use official channels to apply. The maximum application period expires on December 31.
