The Solidarity Companies project is celebrating its 14th anniversary and once again sets a new benchmark in participation and fundraising. This year, a total of 122 companies and organizations joined the initiative to assist people at risk of exclusion in the province of Alicante, up from 116 organizations the previous year.

The significance of this edition lies in surpassing both financial and in-kind donations from participants. In 2023, the total reached 167,000 euros, enabling the distribution of 1,800 Christmas packages to 62 social organizations working in different cities to reach families in need. The higher batch cost this year reflects not only a general rise in product prices but also the inclusion of more diverse products.

Solidarity Companies held its annual meeting this morning, bringing together donor companies and aid recipient organizations. The event, attended by nearly a hundred people, took place at IMED Hospital in Elche, where the edition results were announced.

Juan Manuel Candela Moreno, director of IMED Elche, welcomed the participants. The results were presented by Maite Rubio Gómez, Director of Corporate Relations, CSR, and Logistics Business Development at SEUR. She reminded attendees that Empresas Solidarias began in 2012 with nine donor companies and 21,000 euros raised. This edition sees 122 participants and 167,000 euros raised.

Besides the 1,800 Christmas batches already delivered, any remaining funds from this action will be distributed as aid to various organizations in the summer of 2024.

During the event, a talk titled “Situation and Trends in Sustainability” was delivered by Amelia Navarro Arcas, president of the Valencian Community Responsible and Sustainable Companies Club and HIDRAQUA Sustainable Development, Equality and Social Action Director. Aguas de Alicante. Concluding the program, Gorka Chazarra, CSR manager at Polo Club and president of the Conciénciate Foundation, and a member of the Solidarity Companies Project working group, brought the event to a close with a moving address.
