Seven people were injured in a shooting near the Wildberries office in the Romanov Dvor business center in Moscow, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia. The committee’s statement noted that the wounded included two law enforcement officers who had arrived to suppress illegal activities. The rest of the injured were cared for on site and then transported to medical facilities where doctors provided the necessary treatment and monitoring as investigators started to document the incident for a criminal case.
Two victims suffered injuries incompatible with life; doctors were unable to save them. The remaining victims were taken to medical institutions where they received the care they required. Investigative Committee investigators opened a criminal case to determine the sequence of events, assess possible involvement of any party, and preserve evidence from the scene.
The incident occurred on September 18. Vladislav, the husband of Wildberries founder Tatyana Bakalchuk, tried to enter the company’s office together with security. It was reported that clashes began. The evacuation of students from the building of the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University on Mokhovaya was announced, as the university is located next to the Wildberries office.
At the same time, Vladislav Bakalchuk stated that during negotiations to halt the construction of the warehouse, he and his team “tried to attack.” Tatyana Bakalchuk described Vladislav’s actions as an attempt by raiders to seize the place. Details of what happened were discussed in contemporary reporting, while investigators gathered testimonies and examined surveillance footage to establish facts.
Earlier, reports had indicated that Wildberries opened fire near his office. Investigations continue to determine the sequence of events and the responsibilities of those involved, with authorities reviewing security protocols and the actions of all parties in the vicinity of the Wildberries office.
