An incident in Mallorca involving an underage student has drawn attention after a video circulated last Tuesday. The event reportedly occurred at Our Lady of Consolació, a school located in the municipality of Alaró. The clip shows a student being forced to bow and kiss a peer’s feet, followed by several kicks to the head, with other students seemingly present and not intervening. The footage was shared with Diario de Mallorca through a confidential mailbox operated by the Prensa Ibérica media group.

According to the anonymous tip, the aggressor is two years older than the victim, and the video appears to indicate that the aggression was witnessed by fellow minors who did not act to stop it. The complaint notes that some of the students shown in uniforms were part of the same school community, and the caller claimed that this was not an isolated incident within the school environment.

There is no police record

Diario de Mallorca reports that several people have come forward with information, but the Binissalem Civil Guard has not released further details. The Alaró Local Police say they have no record of incidents of this nature, and the police chief indicated that the station has not received formal complaints related to this matter.

Nevertheless, the Ministry of National Education is aware of the situation. The school inspector has been involved since Wednesday, and the education authorities have activated the protocol that addresses school bullying and related violence.

Under Decree No. 121/2010, which governs the rights and duties of students, such aggression may trigger the school protection protocol even if it takes place outside the classroom. The authorities are examining whether there will be a formal legal complaint in court and how the case will be addressed within the education system.

At the same time, educational officials emphasize that the investigation has not established a pattern of frequent incidents at the center. The focus remains on ensuring a thorough review of the events, safeguarding the wellbeing of students, and reinforcing anti-bullying measures across the school community to prevent recurrence.

The case highlights how schools in Spain are required to respond to violence and intimidation among students, including the use of established protocols that may involve counseling, disciplinary actions, and coordination with police when appropriate. Authorities stress the importance of timely reporting by witnesses and the protection of victims, ensuring that schools provide a safe environment while upholding due process for all students involved. As the investigation continues, the broader question remains how schools can better monitor and intervene to reduce bullying, both inside and outside of classrooms, and how communities can support students who may be affected by such incidents.
