The oil facility in Proletarsk endured a blaze that persisted for more than two weeks. On the final day, firefighting teams reported the complete suppression of the flames. Earlier, the situation involved a rapid spread of fire within the fuel storage tanks, prompting a comprehensive response from multiple rescue units and regional emergency services who worked around the clock to contain the incident and prevent escalation to nearby infrastructure.
During the night of August 18, air defense forces repelled a drone attack aimed at targets in the Rostov region. Subsequent reports from the regional governor, Vasily Golubev, indicated that fragments from the attacking drone fell within the industrial warehouse zone near Proletarsk. The impact sparked a diesel fuel fire, complicating the containment efforts and challenging the containment operations across adjacent facilities.
