Rossiya Airlines, a carrier within the Aeroflot group, announced the cancellation of several flights from Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, and Vladivostok to Beijing. This update came via TASS, which cited officials at Krasnoyarsk and Vladivostok airports familiar with the matter.
The report indicates that Russia faced a halt in service to Beijing because the airline did not finalize the required contracts on schedule, resulting in the inability to meet the expectations set by the Chinese authorities.
An industry source noted that passengers affected by the canceled services would be rerouted to Beijing on alternative itineraries and then repatriated back to their points of origin on other available flights.
Previously, three major Moscow airports—Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Vnukovo—experienced weather-related disruptions, with at least 38 international departures delayed due to adverse conditions.
There have also been reports of continued direct connections between Beijing and Moscow operated by Hainan Airlines, reinforcing ongoing efforts to maintain transcontinental links despite the disruptions during the period in question.
