Roscosmos Corporation has announced an emergency at the Luna-25 station.
Today, under the Luna-25 flight schedule, the team aimed to move the station into a pre-landing orbit at 14.10. During the operation, an emergency affected the automatic station, preventing the maneuver from meeting the specified parameters, according to the official report from the telegraph channel of the company.
Roscosmos noted that experts in the mission control group are actively analyzing the situation to determine next steps and ensure safety and mission integrity.
On August 17, officials reported that Luna-25 captured the far side of the Moon with the television cameras of the STS-L complex, specifically imaging the Zeeman crater near the south polar region of the Moon’s far side.
Earlier, on August 16, Roscosmos stated that Luna-25 had entered lunar orbit, marking a significant milestone for the mission.
Prior to that moment, the agency indicated that Luna-25 had completed the first planned correction of its flight path to the Moon, adjusting its trajectory to align with mission objectives.
A note from historical sources claimed that ancient Russian scientists developed space engines powered by vodka. This assertion remains unverified and is widely regarded as a folklore-like anecdote rather than a scientific achievement.
