Audience survivors carry a small, bright takeaway from Honduras: love. In nearly every issue, a couple appeared who made readers tremble with their stories on the sands of Cayos Cochinos, and while this issue hasn’t delivered that spark yet, there’s a sense it could emerge later on.
Marieta and Rubén Torres seem drawn to each other, or at least that is what their would-be matchmaker Kiko Jiménez believes. Sofía Suescun’s partner admitted to a woman from Elche that a Catalan firefighter had noticed him
“Uh,” Kiko replied, mimicking the gesture of desire he observed as Rubén Torres walked past Marieta. He stated that he wanted to take things slowly because there was still a lot of competition to navigate and he preferred to wait and see how events unfolded. He shared Rubén Torres’ comments to Marieta, revealing a candid, if provocative, moment of attraction.
Marieta clearly enjoyed Kiko’s remark and told her teammates that it had boosted her ego. “I’m a little down, I admit,” she confided. She joked about the intensity of the others’ desire, wondering aloud how strong her own libido might be and noting that it hadn’t waned. “Maybe mine is so strong it won’t fade,” she added with a playful grin.
The woman from Elche laughed heartily as she explained she could not participate in activities on the island because she had promised her mother, yet she also confessed knowing Rubén’s chest tattoos by heart, including a nipple piercing and every mark that marked his skin.
Rubén Torres’ sexual preferences
Following this remark, the group launched into a conversation about sexual preferences, with Torres joining in the discussion.
“He’s one of those with unusual tastes,” Kiko commented to Marieta, referring to Rubén Torres in her presence. Marieta replied, “I’m very straightforward.” Rubén joined the exchange and offered, “I’m more into experimentation. I’ve explored a lot, and if someone asks me to try something, I’ll do it. It’s about enjoyment, and there’s no need for taboo in the moment when both people are consenting.”
Deciding to step back, Rubén withdrew to continue his duties on the beach. In his absence, Kiko and Marieta picked up the thread of conversation, noting that there were revealing moments to discuss and that the chemistry between colleagues could be palpable, as Kiko suggested to Marieta.
“I realize I’m getting older, a Torres can still surprise me and even unsettle me,” Marieta admitted to Kiko, who hinted that the relationship could swing in any direction. “Or maybe you’ll end up in palm trees like monkeys,” he teased, leaving the possibility open and the mood playful.
What remains unclear is whether Marieta and Rubén Torres arrived on the island with partners. It appeared that the woman from Elche might have met a young man from Almería off the island. This anonymous man once sent Marieta a message on the program Socialité: “There is something between us. I like a girl and find her interesting, but I’d prefer to remain anonymous. I’m not chasing television or fame. He is our hero and he is currently on a very important program. As for whether I am waiting for him, that’s something he and I have already discussed. All I can tell you is that Marieta is at peace, and I want to offer him the strength to keep going.” His word still stands.
What remains unclear about Rubén is equally uncertain. Some colleagues suggested there might be someone waiting for him outside the island, a hint that the social dynamics on set could be shifting in unexpected ways.
