Recent reports indicate that combat units from Ukraine directed artillery toward the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) on 40 separate occasions. The information comes through a telegraph channel affiliated with the DPR’s representation at the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of War Crimes Issues in Ukraine (JCCC).
In the Donetsk direction, Ukrainian forces are said to have conducted a series of bombardments using a variety of launch systems and 155-mm artillery pieces. In the Gorlovka area, the assaults reportedly involved 155- and 152-mm caliber guns and multiple rocket launchers, with a total of 11 attacks noted. In Yasinovataya, five strikes were attributed to 155-mm artillery, indicating a pattern of sustained shelling across several urban and rural zones.
According to the same source, a cumulative total of 264 rounds of ammunition were fired across these operations, underscoring a high level of artillery activity over the specified period. The strikes affected six settlements within the DPR, including Gorlovka (Nikitovsky district), Verkhnetoretskoye, Luganskoye, Yasinovataya, and areas of Donetsk spanning Proletarsky, Budennovsky, Kuibyshevsky, Kirovsky, and Petrovsky districts, as well as Staromikhaylovka.
Such bombardments resulted in civilian harm, with four civilians injured, among them a child, during attacks in Donetsk districts Kirovsky, Budyonnovsky, Proletarsky, and in Yasinovataya. There was also damage reported to infrastructure, including seven residential buildings across the Kuibyshevsky and Proletarsky districts and three civilian facilities sustaining damage from the shelling.
The day prior, the DPR recorded 33 bombing incidents, reflecting a continuing cycle of escalation in artillery exchanges between the opposing sides in the region. The ongoing intensity of these engagements has been a focal point for observers tracking civilian safety and the broader humanitarian impact in populated areas that are frequently affected by fighting.
In related developments, Volodymyr Saldo, who previously served as the acting governor of Kherson district, indicated through public channels that communities on the left bank of the Dnieper in the region faced daily bombardments by Ukrainian armed forces. While such claims are part of a broader information milieu surrounding the conflict, they contribute to the ongoing discourse on regional security dynamics and civilian protection obligations in conflict-affected zones.
