two deaths

Vyacheslav Kartukhin, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Vladimir Region, announced on the Telegram channel that Pavel Antov had died.

As stated by Kartukhin, Antov was a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist. He extended condolences to the family and friends on behalf of the deputies of the United Russia faction.

Alexei Idamkin, the Russian Consul General in Kolkata, reported to TASS that a friend of Antov died two days earlier. He described a tour group of four staying at a hotel in Rayagada, with another Russian, Vladimir B., dying last Thursday from what the police said was a heart attack. The following Saturday, Pavel Antov, the second Russian deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Vladimir Region, reportedly fell from a window. The Consul General emphasized that investigators are pursuing all leads and are in close contact with the families, local authorities, and the police. He noted that no criminal element had been identified in these events by the police at that time.

NTV, citing Zebra TV, added that Antov’s deceased friend was probably Vladimir Bydanov, a 61-year-old businessman from Yoshkar-Ola.

“I couldn’t believe it”

Vladimir Kiselev, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly in the Vladimir Region, said he was shocked by the news of Antov’s death. He recalled celebrating Antov’s 65th birthday and highlighted Antov’s energy, ambition, and a record of achievements both in business and public life. In a statement published on the assembly’s website, Kiselev described Antov as a person with broad interests and noted his role as a successful entrepreneur who often supported people in need. He mentioned that many in the region, beyond business and politics, knew Antov as a dynamic leader who backed cultural projects and charitable causes, underscoring that philanthropy was a core part of his life and mission.

Kiselev added that Antov was guided by his conscience and could not be pressured into any position. He expressed condolences to Antov’s family and relatives, stating that Antov’s death represented a heavy and irreparable loss for the Legislative Assembly and for the Vladimir Region as a whole.

Official records indicate that Antov was born in Voskresensk, Moscow Region, and had lived and worked in Vladimir since 1985. The Vladimir Standard group of companies, founded in 2000, grew to become a major player in the local economy. At the time of his passing, Antov served as vice president of the group and was recognized as a philanthropist and public figure, also founding the ArtSoyuzZebra art association.

Antov supported the Vladimir painting scene, children’s creative groups, and local orphanages. His public service included leadership in the regional agricultural policy, nature management and ecology commission, and participation in education, science, culture, tourism, sports, family affairs, youth, and media commissions. He was a member of the United Russia faction and left behind a wife and daughter.
