Ray-Ban Stories are the first smart glasses born from a collaboration between Meta and EssilorLuxottica. They have arrived in Spain with a price tag of 329 euros, blending the classic Ray-Ban aesthetic with built-in technology that lets users capture moments or listen to music directly from the glasses themselves.

Equipped with a 5 megapixel dual camera, the glasses enable quick photos or videos through voice commands or via a discreet capture button on the frame. A compact speaker system and three microphones provide hands-free audio for calls and video recordings. The accompanying Facebook View app lets users save, edit, and share images and clips across social networks like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Twitter, with compatibility for both iOS and Android devices.

Since their initial rollout in markets such as the United States, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, and the United Kingdom late last year, Ray-Ban Stories have attracted growing attention and become a recognizable product in the wearables category. The line continues to grow with new colorways and lens options, expanding the creative possibilities for users who want to store and share everything from skydiving adventures to countryside strolls and favorite concerts.

The catalog has recently expanded to include a broader color and lens lineup. Options range from glossy black round frames to Gray Transitions and Brown Transitions lenses, with Wayfarer styles offered in glossy black and matte gray finishes alongside Gray Transitions. Brown Transitions lenses are also available in select configurations. These choices enable everyday wear that adapts to various lighting conditions—indoors, outdoors, daytime, and night. In total, Ray-Ban Stories can be configured in 28 distinct combinations.

An interesting feature is the ability to browse the Ray-Ban Instagram store to find a model that fits personal style preferences, aided by an augmented reality filter that lets shoppers virtually try on different frames.

Video length on Ray-Ban Stories has increased to a maximum of 60 seconds, up from 30 seconds. Within the app, users can choose video durations between 30 and 60 seconds, enhancing the ability to capture longer moments without interrupting the narrative flow.

To improve usability, the brand added sound alerts that inform users about battery status, available storage, and potential overheating. Voice commands continue to control glasses functions, while users can check battery levels, initiate calls, send messages, and listen to Messenger voice notes through integrated hardware.

The Facebook View app supports multiple languages, including Spanish, French, Dutch, and German, broadening accessibility for international users. Privacy features are embedded directly into the product’s framework, and comprehensive user manuals address safe usage. In addition to the Facebook View app, privacy guides cover scenarios like closing the glasses in private spaces and clearly indicating when recording. Caution is advised when photographing minors.

Like many wearable devices, Ray-Ban Stories operate in tandem with a Facebook account and the Facebook View app to share content across networks. They offer a fresh way to capture, share, and enjoy music, marking a new generation of connected sunglasses from Ray-Ban.

The glasses deliver a near-true color experience, with polarized lenses that block at least 95% of reflected light, reducing glare and improving visual clarity in diverse environments. Hands-free photo and video capture are powered by the 5MP dual camera, which automatically adapts to ambient lighting to produce high-quality photos and videos up to 60 seconds. The built-in speakers and three microphones ensure rich audio for calls and video content. A hypersensitive touch panel allows users to pause music, take photos, or record videos with a single tap, while the Facebook Assistant can activate voice commands by saying “Hey Facebook.”

Price: 329 Euros.
