The Oktyabrsky District Court in the Penza region authorized the seizure of a Nokia 3310 mobile phone valued at 155,000 rubles that belonged to former governor Ivan Belozertsev, who was later found guilty of bribery. This information appeared in court documents cited by TASS.
The documents describe the device as a Nokia 3310 by Gresso Black Limited Edition 0069/3310, housed in a titanium case and accompanied by three adapters, instructions and warranty, with a declared value of 155,000 rubles.
Around the same time, the court seized a collection of personal items once owned by the former regional head, including 13 luxury ballpoint and fountain pens, 10 pairs of cufflinks forged from precious metal, and 6 tie pins, with a combined value exceeding 588,000 rubles.
The Investigative Committee of Russia concluded its inquiry in October 2022 into the criminal case against Belozertsev and former senator Boris Shpigel. Prosecutors and investigators established that between June 3, 2019 and September 29, 2020 the ex-head of the Penza region received bribes in cash and Swiss watches from an entrepreneur connected to the case.
In January 2024, the Moscow Izmailovsky District Court sentenced Belozertsev to 12 years in a strict regime colony. He was ordered to serve the term there and to pay a fine exceeding 450 million rubles.
Additionally, the Penza Oktyabrsky District Court recorded claims totaling more than 8.1 billion rubles against Belozertsev, Shpigel, and other defendants, according to the Prosecutor General’s Office.
