The disappearance of my brother is not normal. I know that he did not leave of his own free will, says Juan Muñoz about the case now carried by CASO ABIERTO, Prensa Ibérica’s portal for events and investigation. He names the people involved and insists the motive is clear — Alejandro’s troubles began with a single person. The truth is that his brother faced a grave threat, and revenge seems to be the motive behind the act.

The missing person’s phone was found inside his minibus with the window closed. He was not inside the vehicle. There is a sense that Alejandro was taken from the car. There is concern that he could have been restrained at gunpoint.

Three direct shots to the head, one to the temple, resulting in death. On Tuesday, Juanillo was killed in Atarfe, Granada, a man who had long viewed a suspect in Alejandro’s disappearance with suspicion. His brother has been missing since July 2023.

After months with little information or progress, Juanillo went to JJF. He described his brother as an intellectual writer who faced the case with resolve. The feud, rooted in a long-standing cycle of retaliation, is described by close sources as a form of law that favors no one. Witnesses say that after waiting in the square since 11:30, he saw a car pass by around 13:00. He pointed a gun at the driver and fired three times, leaving no doubt about his intent to harm.

JJF was not alone. A three-year-old girl was in the vehicle. She witnessed the event. Juanillo escaped unharmed.

Gunshots alarmed the neighborhood in Atarfe. Local Police, Emergency Services and Civil Guard units arrived at the scene. There was nothing that could be done for the victim JJF.

The scene was chaotic with cries and a quick rush of people. Juanillo surrendered around mid-afternoon, according to sources close to the case. He went to the Civil Guard Barracks and handed over the weapon used in the shooting.

confronting families

Relations between the families have always been tense. The environment around them has long been strained. Juanillo spoke openly about his brother’s disappearance, noting how the lack of answers had a heavy toll on everyone. The parents described a loss of appetite for life, a sense of despair that affected daily routines. They questioned why their son was targeted, sharing their fears with the media and investigators.

Juanillo never hid his suspicions. He told agents and reporters that his brother would never walk away. He noted that threats had been received from members of the rival clan after Alejandro vanished. The word fear figure prominently in conversations surrounding the case.

In recent days, Juanillo reported feeling watched and overwhelmed. He feared for his safety and the safety of his family, echoing the concerns his brother voiced before the disappearance. After renewed threats, authorities were urged to increase protections for all involved. A fresh confrontation between the clans followed, adding another layer to an already fraught situation.

Years of conflict

The conflict between the families spans years. OPEN CASE has learned that the victim, JJF, belonged to the family of the boy Alejandro, who disappeared after a prior confrontation. A witness described the incident as a harsh moment that led to legal consequences for the other party and eventual disappearance. The family maintains that animosity has persisted for years with little forgiveness.

Juanillo consistently believed that the opposing clan bore responsibility for Alejandro’s absence. The Civil Guard has not yet found evidence linking any member of that family to the disappearance. The investigation remains open. Juanillo remains detained as the legal process continues. JJF is dead, and Alejandro has yet to reappear.
