The Russian Ministry of Defense released a video sequence showing the destruction of armored vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces. The footage appears to depict a self-propelled artillery mount that was taken out by Russian forces using FPV unmanned aerial vehicles.
In late August, the ministry published images from the Zaporozhye direction, where it says Ukrainian armored vehicles were neutralized as part of efforts to defend a breached line. The clip captures moments when armored personnel carriers and other armored units were destroyed, including an infantry fighting vehicle being eliminated with the assistance of a kamikaze drone.
Earlier in the month, the Russian defense ministry released footage showing the destruction of an infantry fighting vehicle of the Ukrainian forces. A couple of days prior, it had also shared video material showing the destruction of a Ukrainian tank using FPV drones.
Mid-August saw the ministry present footage of the destruction of a Starlink-based communications complex used by Ukrainian forces, achieved with an FPV drone featuring a first-person view capability. This highlights the growing role of small, fast drones in targeting and reconnaissance during the conflict.
Meanwhile, reports indicate Russia has developed a new drone suppression system to counter aerial threats, signaling ongoing efforts to disrupt UAV-based operations on the battlefield.
