Naturgy will guide its customers through the entire process so households with annual consumption under 50,000 kWh can access the program quickly. Final Facility Price ENG indicates that the energy company highlights current gas pricing well below the market average.

To streamline the switch, the company provides a free online form for free-market customers to verify identity, confirm supply ownership, and authorize the transfer of personal data to the regulated retailer who will take over the supply after the change. This enables customers to join the regulated market without extra steps.

Naturgy will also reach out to its free-market customers through email, SMS, and postal mail to offer a fast and automatic TUR change. A direct link to the form is provided, and the price remains well below market levels thanks to subsidies from the General Government Budget PGE.

The initiative initially targets customers in nine autonomous communities where the energy group owns gas distribution: Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Galicia, Madrid, Navarra, and La Rioja. Together, these regions account for about 90 percent of the group’s gas customers in Spain.

As a result, these customers will no longer be clients of Naturgy Iberia, the deregulated market distributor, or Gas and Power, the group’s regulated distributor.

Nearly 150,000 registrations since July

Since last July, Naturgy has reported roughly 150,000 TUR registrations, a figure higher than in prior years including 2020, 2021, and the first half of 2022.

The company notes that the TUR program already includes measures like a dedicated service channel for neighboring communities to help them benefit from the new TUR four, as authorized by the government for this group.

In addition, Naturgy has strengthened its customer-service channels to respond to a surge in demand for TUR home gas commitments. Staffing has been increased to handle registration requests for TUR gas services.

Naturgy Marketing General Manager, Carlos Neighbor, stated that the group aims to assist clients in a challenging context. The company emphasizes putting customers first, serving society, and acting with transparency.

New appointments

Onto leadership, Naturgy has appointed Raul Suárez as the new CEO of Nedgia, the group’s gas distributor in Spain. Monica Bridge takes the helm of the electricity distributor UFD, according to the company.

The leadership changes respond to the commitment to develop the group’s internal capabilities. The new Nedgia CEO replaces Narcís de Carreras, who is pursuing opportunities outside Spain.

Raúl Suárez will lead the Naturgy gas distributor, bringing more than two decades of experience within the group across Spain and Latin America. In recent years he oversaw a major digital and operational transformation at UFD, making it among the most efficient players in the sector in economic and operational terms.

Monica Puente succeeded Suárez as president of UFD. Puente joined Naturgy in 2004 and has since held multiple management roles focusing on procurement, technological innovation, quality, safety, environment, and sustainability.
