Mutxamela company Jomipsa progresses with a new logistics center in Xixona

Jomipsa, a Mutxamel-based company, is advancing plans to relocate its logistics hub to a modern industrial warehouse within the El Espartal III business park in Xixona. The Valencia Institute for Business Competitiveness, affiliated with the Conselleria de Economía Sostenible, has awarded three plots totaling 4,992,48 square meters to the company, signaling a significant expansion for its production and distribution operations. The site will bolster the area near the Riodel de Mutxamel industrial zone and situate the new production space in a key logistics corridor.

The award, granted through a competitive process, enables Jomipsa to construct an industrial warehouse intended to serve as the next logistics center. This investment, projected to be around 300,000 Euros, underscores the company’s dedication to producing combat rations, humanitarian kits, and related supplies. The Generalitat confirmed the project in a statement released on Sunday.

Rafa Climent, counselor for Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labor, noted that the establishment of Jomipsa will add value and increase competition within El Espartal III, a park that blends traditional Valencian food industry know-how with modern production practices. He highlighted that El Espartal III stands as a strategic space where companies combine heritage and innovation to grow and create wealth.

10,000 daily rations

Founded in 1982, Jomipsa began developing war rations for the Spanish Ministry of Defense three years later and continues to work with defense, security, emergency agencies, international cooperation bodies, and NGOs across 35 countries on five continents. The rations are customized to meet language needs, cultural preferences, and specific dietary requirements. A multidisciplinary team handles needs assessment, design, development, and delivery to any location worldwide.

The Mutxamel facilities can produce up to 10,000 kits or daily rations and maintain stock for a substantial distribution. The company divides its operations into two main sectors: military rations and relief, emergencies, and humanitarian aid.

El Espartal III: a growing business park

El Espartal III, promoted by Ivace, offers competitive prices, favorable marketing terms, and incentives for investment. The park supports new business projects through methods such as trading partnerships, joint ventures, deferred payment, and surface rights. In recent years, the Generalitat has streamlined plot terms to attract investment and accelerate the onboarding of new tenants into a polygon that was finally completed in 2006. The industrial land covers 102,432 square meters, with occupancy rising from a historical low of 35 percent just a few years ago.

Antiu Xixona has established one of Spain’s largest chocolate factories in the area, serving clients such as Mercadona and contributing to a growing industrial cluster. The Artisan Ice Cream Research Center is also planned for the site, and the distribution of land to the Xixona City Council helps facilitate the development of synergistic opportunities among established tenants. These arrangements align with broader goals to support a circular economy as emphasized by regional authorities.

Marketing information about El Espartal III is available through official channels, and inquiries are handled through standard customer service processes as established by the park administration.
