Musgrave aims high. The group behind the Call fee and cash & carry chain has unveiled a bold strategic plan to double its turnover and push annual revenue beyond 500 million euros by 2030.

This ambition was outlined by the company’s general manager, Luis López. Following the announcement, Musgrave outlined plans to construct new logistics facilities in Monforte to support this growth. The centerpiece is a warehouse spanning 27,000 square meters on a land plot of 65,000 square meters. The project will bolster the group’s current Elche headquarters, where facilities cover about 13,000 square meters of space.

Musgrave reports that construction is already underway and that the new facilities are scheduled to become operational in a little over a year. In line with typical arrangements in this sector, the building will be leased to Musgrave by a specialized developer, with the construction firm and the warehouse owner collaborating closely. The project includes features befitting a modern logistics hub, designed to streamline distribution across the network.

The general manager noted that the initiative forms part of a strategic plan unveiled last year and slated for full execution. The goal is to increase growth from just over 250 million euros this year to more than 500 million euros by 2030, signaling a substantial expansion of the group’s footprint and capabilities.

To enable this growth, Musgrave plans a significant expansion of its existing supermarket network and a modernization effort aimed at improving sales at the 19 Call fee cash & carry outlets, currently numbering 116 stores. López explains that the company continues to generate substantial revenue from openings in the Valencian Community and Murcia, while strengthening its presence in Tenerife through a strong franchise network.

The chain concentrates on small-format, high-traffic urban stores. Its philosophy centers on proximity and community support, with management highlighting ongoing modernization efforts and adaptation to evolving trends, including convenience foods and healthier options. This strategy is intended to align store formats with the pace of urban life and consumer preferences, ensuring quick, accessible shopping experiences in city centers.

The growth-focused plan for Musgrave’s wholesale division emphasizes enhanced product distribution to hospitality clients. The aim is for Dialsur to serve as a single source of supply, reducing the need for multiple distributors and simplifying procurement for hotels, restaurants, and bars. The strategy emphasizes a stronger mid-market catering channel and streamlined service.

Established in 1912, Musgrave Spain operates as part of the Irish Musgrave Group, a leading distributor in Ireland and Spain. The parent company has a long history of coordinating diverse foodservice and retail brands under a unified distribution platform, with a focus on efficiency, scale, and local market knowledge.
