He spoke during a session at the Basmanny Court where a preventive measure in his case was being considered, outlining his affiliations and the context of the incident for the record.
Chichaev stated that he served as deputy commander in the unit. He is married and has four children.
During the session, Chichaev said he felt dizzy and asked that the proceedings be paused. The judge ordered the hearing to be adjourned, and the session was subsequently closed.
Earlier, law enforcement reported the detention of Umar Chichaev in connection with the gunfight near the Wildberries office in Moscow’s Basmanny District. Investigators describe him as a person with a background in mixed martial arts.
On September 18, at the Wildberries Moscow office in the Romanov Dvor business center, a death was reported during an incident involving Vladislav Bakalchuk, the husband of founder Tatiana Bakalchuk. He arrived with security and Chechen MMA fighters and said they came for negotiations, but shots were fired and his group says they were attacked.
On September 19, investigators announced charges against more than thirty defendants in the criminal case tied to the shooting near the Wildberries office in Moscow, including Vladislav Bakalchuk.
Earlier reports indicated that the court would evaluate a request to search Bakalchuk’s residence.
