This morning, a medical helicopter was dispatched to transport the most seriously injured passenger from the bus crash involving a group of Imserso tourists in Mallorca straight to Son Espases University Hospital. The bus carried 54 people, including the driver, and the balance shows one person in critical condition, five others seriously injured, seven with minor injuries, and the remaining passengers unharmed.
The accident occurred shortly before 10:15 AM at kilometer 5 on the Ma-4030 road, between Sant Llorenç and Son Servera. The bus, part of a tour group, veered off a curve and toppled down a slope roughly three meters high, landing on its side in a field adjacent to the roadway.
Emergency response
Upon learning of the crash, an emergency operation was activated with participation from 061, Mallorca Fire Brigade, and the Civil Guard. Firefighters and guards helped passengers exit the vehicle, while medical teams provided initial care to the injured.
Initial information released by the Civil Guard of Traffic indicates one passenger sustained very serious injuries. Five others were seriously hurt, seven more were lightly injured, and 41 people, including the driver, were not injured.
Medical helicopter
The seriously and mildly injured were transported by ambulance to Son Espases and Manacor hospitals. The individual in very serious condition received stabilization efforts from a medical team before evacuation. Mallorca Fire Brigade cleared a nearby field to allow a medical helicopter to land, after which the helicopter flew the patient directly to Son Espases.
