Brazilian police say a woman is seeking three men to participate in a murder plot connected to a Mallorca crime network. The primary defendant and only person identified by investigators by name is Eliandro Lourenço Menezes, alleged leader of a drug and arms trafficking gang known locally as Primeiro Comando do Campinho (PCC). The group has operated on the island for years, using both the victims’ businesses and their home as points of influence. On June 10, 2017, authorities conducted a large anti-drug operation in the area, resulting in a gun battle that left one gang member dead and another arrested and sentenced to nearly 19 years in prison. The document notes that Eliandro Lourenço was identified as the head of the organization, but he could not be brought to trial because he had already fled.
After the arrest of Eliandro Lourenço for a series of bank robberies in 2015, authorities on the island labeled him a principal figure in the network. The operation, code-named Pirate, dismantled a drugs lab and recovered quantities of crack, cocaine, and marijuana. In addition, security forces seized firearms, including two pistols and a submachine gun, along with substantial ammunition. The leadership of the gang is blamed for orchestrating a double murder that drew investigators’ attention to Peregrina and his wife.
Officials indicate that the relationship between the gang boss and the Majorcan chef began about a decade ago. Eliandro Lourenço is said to have taken charge of the island’s criminal enterprises, while Peregrina returned to Spain for a court case in 2012 and was later ordered to serve time in Mallorca for fraud offenses. The smugglers then left the land held by the gang’s chief under Peregrina’s control, with an agreement that Peregrina would own portions of it in exchange for cooperation. When Peregrina returned to Brazil in 2015, he learned that Eliandro Lourenço was using the territory for illicit activities, a betrayal that allegedly prompted him to order the shooting of Peregrina and his partner. Their bodies were discovered in Peregrina’s restaurant and home on the day after the operation.
In the years that followed, the prime suspect carried a long and extensive criminal record, including violent robberies and a central role in drug and arms trafficking in the Porto Seguro region. He and three other men were arrested in January 2015 on charges of belonging to a bank robbery crew that carried out multiple heists over a short period, often using weapons and disguises. Lourenço spent months in custody but remained active in criminal activities after his release.
Investigators say the accused’s son contacted authorities to reveal that his father confessed over the phone to involvement in the Mallorcan chef and wife’s murder, adding that the elder man had no intention of surrendering. Officials also indicated that there were additional suspects beyond Eliandro Lourenço, with two other individuals reportedly involved in the double homicide, though authorities have not released further details about those suspects. The case continues to unfold as prosecutors pursue all leads tied to this international criminal network.
