A joint operation by the Sant Joan Civil Guard and Mutxamel Local Police led to the demolition of a major cocaine outlet run by a 50-year-old man who allegedly supplied smugglers across the province and then sold it at retail. They recovered more than three kilos of cocaine during the operation. The drugs were found hidden in the registry and detected by a canine unit, a dog named Chico, trained by the Civil Guard Clinical Service. In addition to the outlet operator detained at the police station, a woman who left her home carrying 30 grams of cocaine intended for retail distribution among small buyers was also arrested.
The Sant Joan d’Alacant Investigation District and the Mutxamel Local Police have tracked a key drug trafficker who has resided in Mutxamel since 2020. Prolonged investigations were necessary due to the security measures the smuggler adopted to avoid detection.
The suspect’s identity was established, showing a prior criminal record for similar offenses. During the investigation, agents seized small quantities of drugs destined for consumption in various parts of Alicante.
The alleged trafficker, now in custody, was well known among users for selling highly pure cocaine.
