Lucentum Alicante and Aludium, leaders in extruded aluminum products across Europe, collaborate to advance sport, with a focus on women’s athletics. Aludium has become the principal sponsor of the 23/24 season for Lucentum Alicante’s women’s first team, aligning with a clear commitment to gender equality and increased visibility for women in sport. The cooperation agreement was signed at Aludium’s Alicante facility by Ignacio Alonso, vice president of Lucentum Alicante, and José Ignacio Juan, manager of the Aludium plant in Alicante.
Lucentum Alicante is pleased to raise the profile of a women’s team linked to a renowned local company and to demonstrate its ongoing support for provincial sport. Club president Daniel Adriasola expressed pride in the agreement and appreciation for Aludium’s dedication to sport. “We are excited to have a major national and international company join the Lucentum project. It is a meaningful step for any business to take, and Aludium has embraced it. For a team from Alicante, it is rewarding to see a well-established local company invest in our project. We expect this to be the first chapter of a long-term collaboration.”
Following the signing, José Ignacio Juan, director of Aludium Alicante, noted that the partnership represents a substantial move toward real gender parity in a field traditionally dominated by men, including the metallurgical industry. He stated, “We want to help shape a future where women’s sports have equal opportunities and visibility through this collaboration.”
Ignacio Alonso, vice-president of the club, described the agreement as a strong boost for the women’s team and a foundation for the club’s aspirations in the years ahead. It supports Lucentum Alicante’s participation in the First National category last season and its promotion toward Women’s League 2. “For Lucentum Alicante, partnering with Aludium, a leader in aluminum solutions, is a source of pride for the region and a morale boost that reinforces our ambition to grow the project over time”, he affirmed.
José Ignacio Juan added that Aludium shares the values linked to sport and stands as a modern, innovative, and sustainable company that actively contributes to community growth and well-being. He emphasized the goal of encouraging women to pursue technical university studies and related industry programs, underscoring the company’s commitment to education and workforce development. The director concluded that, beyond promoting sport as a health pillar, Aludium will actively support the advancement of women’s sport alongside Lucentum Alicante, reinforcing the broader social impact of the partnership.
