Logista, a major player in Europe’s logistics landscape, is widening its Benelux footprint through the purchase of Parcels Service (BPS) for eight million euros. The move is detailed in a memo sent to the National Securities Exchange Commission on the recent Tuesday, underscoring BPS’s leadership in the express distribution of pharmaceutical parcels within Belgium and Luxembourg.

The company described the acquisition as a milestone that reinforces Logista’s European growth and solidifies its standing in the pharmaceutical distribution and courier segment. BPS has established a reputation for delivering courier services in Belgium and Luxembourg within 24 hours, and extending to the Netherlands, France, and Germany within a 24 to 48 hour window.

Belgian logistics specialists focus on handling sensitive products, particularly temperature-controlled pharmaceutical goods, delivering to hospitals and pharmacies with care. The purchase is framed as a strategic maneuver to raise visibility in the Pharma Courier space across a key European region and to complement Logista’s existing Nacex operations. The message from Logista emphasizes that this aligns with ongoing expansion plans and strengthens the company’s overall service portfolio.

The announcement notes that the deal builds on Logista’s prior expansion activities, including the 2022 acquisition of Speedlink Worldwide Expres, which opened doors to the Dutch market. Executives highlighted that combining Speedlink’s network with BPS enables Logista to serve the entire Benelux region and broadens its reach into Central Europe, enhancing the group’s capability to serve pharmaceutical clients more comprehensively.

More than 25 years of experience

BPS has a long-standing presence in the transport sector, with more than a quarter-century of operation. The company operates a warehouse spanning 3,500 square meters and handles close to 700,000 shipments each year, reflecting a robust and steady volume that supports rapid delivery timelines. The transaction involved acquiring 100 percent ownership of BPS for approximately eight million euros, subject to the 2023 audited accounts being finalized. Within Logista’s broader portfolio, the new acquisition is positioned to provide stronger synergies with existing operations and to enhance the group’s ability to serve healthcare customers who require reliable, time-sensitive distribution. By integrating BPS’s specialized know-how with Logista’s established networks, the combined entity is expected to offer improved service consistency, faster transit times, and greater geographic coverage across the Benelux region and beyond. This strategic direction aligns with the company’s aim to diversify geographically and commercially, pursuing growth through acquisitions that complement existing capabilities and create a broader platform for cross-border logistics in Europe. Executives emphasized that the deal represents part of a deliberate inorganic growth strategy designed to expand Nacex’s business internationally through a distributor that upholds comparable quality and service standards. The leadership team noted that the acquisition will not only extend Logista’s presence in key European markets but also enable closer collaboration with healthcare networks and pharmacies, potentially accelerating the handling of time-critical pharmaceutical shipments.
