Lenkom Theater Leader Mark Varshaver Hospitalized in Moscow with Moderate Condition
Lenkom Theater manager Mark Varshaver was urgently hospitalized in Moscow, with doctors noting a moderate condition. Reports originate from the Puree Telegram channel, which provides ongoing updates on Varshaver’s health status.
According to the channel, Varshaver was diagnosed with double pneumonia after presenting with fatigue, cough, and shortness of breath. Family members and close associates indicated he attempted home remedies but found the symptoms difficult to manage. In response, Varshaver called for emergency medical help, and an ambulance transported him to the hospital for evaluation.
Medical assessment confirmed bilateral pneumonia and bronchitis. A treatment plan was prescribed, and hospital authorities reported Varshaver remains under medical supervision with his condition described as stable at the time of the latest update.
Earlier statements from Varshaver had suggested he had only a mild illness, and he stated there had been no high fever for several days. The theater director has a long history with Lenkom, serving as director since 1987 and assuming expanded powers in 2019. He has been recognized for his contributions to Russian culture, receiving honors in 1993 and 2001 for his work in the arts.
