Russia Plans to Expand Kondor-FKA Radar Satellite Constellation
The Kondor-FKA series of remote sensing satellites is set to grow from two to four craft in orbit, according to a source at the Army-2023 forum cited by TASS. Officials indicated that the major hurdles impacting the production of two additional satellites have been overcome. The Kondor-FKA satellites are developed by NPO Mashinostroenie. Each craft has a mass around 1 050 kilograms and operates from a circumpolar orbit at roughly 500 to 550 kilometers altitude.
