Sabadell Digital, in collaboration with members of the CCTA council, introduces the Innovation Banking Hack Festival. The weekend event takes place at the CCTA Sabadell Banco Sabadell facility in Alicante, beginning Friday at 11:30 and ending Sunday at 17:00. This gathering concentrates on practical experimentation, bold ideas, and hands-on collaboration within a real-world financial technology environment.
How can one participate?
The Hack Festival operates on a 45-hour format designed to welcome university students and a wide range of enthusiasts who share a passion for technology and entrepreneurship. Participants arrive from varied disciplines, including programming, design, marketing, finance, and beyond. The essential requirements are simple: bring a laptop, approach the weekend with an open mind, and carry a genuine eagerness to learn. Prospective attendees can form teams with friends, while organizers help set up the project within the competition framework, ensuring a smooth start for all groups.
Different profiles converge for the festival, spanning programming, design, marketing, finance, and other specialties. Teams typically consist of four to six people who are challenged to design and develop any application or innovative concept that involves monetary transactions in any context. This could mean enabling payments, sharing account information, improving existing platforms such as Bizum, or even enhancing the convenience of vending machines. Two main technical resources are made available: Sabadell Digital Open Banking and a Microsoft Power Platform test environment. In addition, mentors from both business and technology sectors support participants, and workshops cover essential tools and project defense strategies. The venue provides shared work areas, restful zones, and complimentary shuttle services from the university and other city hubs to facilitate convenient access.
The Innovation Banking Hack Festival has a capped capacity. The objective is to strengthen the Sabadell Digital identity at the CCTA site in Alicante and to actively engage with the local developer and student communities. The event aims to attract talent, ignite creativity, and elevate visibility within the digital ecosystem, all while nurturing the generation of innovative ideas that could influence real-world financial technology solutions.
