III European Forum on Artificial Intelligence returns to Alicante on October 21 and 22. Co-organized by Information, Prensa Ibérica, ELLIS Alicante, Encuentros NOW, and the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering, the event has solidified its prestige after two successful editions, selling out both times with more than a thousand attendees in person and millions of social media impressions, along with streaming video views.

Esteemed speakers who have shaped the field, including Lama Nachman, Intel Fellow and Director of Human & AI Systems Research Lab at Intel Corporation; Nuria Oliver, Director of the Ellis Alicante Foundation; Olga Blanco, Vice President of IBM Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Ireland and head of AI in the Health sector; Ricardo Baeza, Director of Research at the Institute for Experiential AI at Northeastern University; Ariadna Font, founder of the algorithmic ethics area at Twitter and a former executive at Meta and IBM; Chema Alonso, CDO of Telefónica; and Javier García, President of the World Union of Chemistry and member of the World Economic Forum, have taken part in previous editions. They help position the forum as a leading national reference on artificial intelligence.

Under the theme “AI, the new global stage for humanity,” this third edition aims to be a platform for idea exchange and synergy creation in the AI landscape.

On Thursday, June 12, a presentation of the congress took place during a working breakfast at Information facilities. Attendees included the general director of Content for Prensa Ibérica in Valencia, Murcia, and Andalusia, Juan Ramon Gil; the director of the Ellis Alicante Foundation, Nuria Oliver; the president of Encuentros NOW and corporate director of Innovation for the SHA & AB Living group, Manuel Bonilla; the general director of the Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering, Javier Pérez de Vargas; and the editor of Information, Ángel Angulo.

The forum will unfold in a creative, innovative, disruptive, enjoyable, and participatory format, a hallmark of the Encuentros NOW program. One objective is to explore how AI is redefining the world. Each edition updates its topics, keeping artificial intelligence at the core of all sessions.

The first program preview for this third edition includes talks, roundtables, and conferences addressing crucial themes such as health, education, creativity, governance, entrepreneurship, and the role of AI in scientific advancement within chemistry, physics, biology, and materials. Additionally, a truly innovative session will highlight the importance of hybridizing AI with other disruptive technologies such as nanotechnology, quantum computing, robotics, biometrics, and the Internet of Things, among others.

Moreover, the impact of AI on strategic sectors will be explored through the perspectives of CEOs, and discussions will tackle intellectual property and governance amid the rise of generative AI.

Top-tier experts

Last year, the second European Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Alicante featured a panel of leading experts whose contributions enriched the AI debate. This year, a lineup of equally renowned speakers is expected to share their knowledge and viewpoints.

In addition to the sessions, the congress will offer networking opportunities through a charity cocktail that encourages collaboration among attendees. The event stands out not only for its academic and technological contributions but also for its social commitment. This edition will support APSA, an organization that collaborates with CENID on the project Intelligence Alternatives.

A pivotal meeting point

The III European Forum on Artificial Intelligence is more than a congress. It is a gathering for visionaries, experts, and AI enthusiasts to discuss and shape the trends that will define society’s future.

Alicante once again prepares to welcome AI leaders and thinkers at an event expected to be as inspiring and transformative as its predecessors.

More information about the forum will be published soon on the Encuentros NOW website and on the Information site.
