The culinary program goes beyond the table. The event will feature a schedule packed with live showcookings, guided tastings, talks by culinary experts, and hands‑on experiences. A standout moment will be the ronqueo of red tuna, a traditional, artisanal demonstration of the fish’s filleting, followed by a cheese and wine tasting designed to highlight the richness of the region’s dairy and grape offerings.

A tribute to Alicante’s gastronomic icons

In addition to being a must for gastronomy enthusiasts, the days also carry a component of recognition for figures whose careers have shaped the hospitality landscape in Alicante. In this inaugural edition, the honorees are:

  • Alfonso Caballero y José González – Grupo Juan XXIII
  • Pepe Gómez – Racó del Pla
  • Pepe Ortín – Damasol
  • Vicente Castelló – Nou Manolín
  • Susi Díaz – La Finca – Michelin Star

Beyond honoring individuals, the event and its organizers demonstrate a long‑standing collaboration that integrates producers, chefs, and service professionals to elevate the region’s culinary culture. The aim is to create a shared experience that resonates with gourmets and casual diners alike, strengthening Alicante’s reputation as a destination for sophisticated, inspired dining.

Official presentation at Finca Santa Luzia

The launch of these I Gastronomic Days was announced at a press conference held at Finca Santa Luzia in Sant Joan d’Alacant. The proceedings were led by Carlos Corredor, a central figure in Alicante’s food scene, editor of the Guía Gastronómica de Alicante and host of these days.

During the event, Javier Ruiz, general manager of Finca Santa Luzia, and Santiago Román, mayor of Sant Joan d’Alacant, spoke about the importance of this gathering for showcasing local gastronomy and for energizing the regional hospitality sector.

An event with the Grupo Juan XXIII seal

The initiative grows from the commitment of Grupo Juan XXIII, a reference in hospitality, catering, and event organization in Alicante, with more than five decades of experience. Over its history the company has been a cornerstone in promoting high‑quality cuisine and service excellence, earning recognition across the Valencian Community.

With these I Gastronomic Days, the group aims to bring together professionals, producers, and culinary enthusiasts in a shared celebration that elevates the region’s food culture. It aspires to become a must‑attend experience for anyone who values exceptional dining and distinctive gastronomic moments.
