Home Burglary Case Involving German Resident: Theft Of Luxury Items And Cash Valued At Over 220,000 Euros
A Vila resident previously condemned by authorities faced a dramatic burglary that led to the loss of more than 200,000 euros in cash and valuables. Court records indicate the incident occurred around 12:30 pm last Friday when police and witnesses observed movements of clocks and cash being removed from the home along the promenade. Local sources familiar with the case report the incident as a theft carried out at residence, highlighting a troubling breach of security and trust in a rental property.
According to the victim, the German national realized the breach when returning home at approximately 3:20 pm. He initially checked the door lock for a possible blockage and confirmed that the double lock was secured. Inside the residence, he found that all cupboards and furniture had been opened and a large portion of personal belongings were missing. The complainant provided this account to investigators who are compiling details of the incident.
Efforts to identify the perpetrator involved consultations with the building manager, who stated he was not on duty due to a holiday break but would review footage from the building blog and surveillance cameras. The complainant described a person whose photographs have been circulating in the building as someone who carried a key and moved in and out of the flat on multiple occasions. The security footage is being reviewed to determine whether this individual had authorized access or if the entry required some other means of entry.
Among the items reported stolen were five sunglasses valued at 2,500 euros, six luxury watches valued at 140,000 euros, cash amounting to 12,500 euros, seven men’s bags valued at 25,000 euros, a suitcase valued at 2,000 euros, clothing and footwear totaling 25,000 euros, three toiletry bags valued at 1,000 euros, and a mobile phone worth 2,000 euros. The total estimated loss is 220,000 euros. The victim emphasized the significance of each item, noting how some pieces had personal or sentimental value in addition to their monetary worth.
The complainant explained that only three original keys open the portal lock and three additional keys exist for the residence. Creating a copy requires an authorization that should be documented in a signed record. This procedural detail is being used by investigators to determine how the intruder gained access and whether any key was illicitly duplicated or handed over by someone with rightful access.
The complainant also expressed concern about the possibility of someone known to the resident having supplied a key to the intruder. Security cameras installed within the building are being reviewed to identify any person entering the residence with a key, and to establish a timeline of entries and exits. The evidence gathered so far suggests that at least one individual was observed entering and leaving the flat with a key in hand, prompting investigators to explore relationships and potential complicity.
The affected individual has resided in the apartment for three years, renting the unit during that period. The ongoing investigation seeks to determine the exact sequence of events, the method of entry, and any possible accomplices. Local authorities are coordinating with building management to assess security measures and to prevent future incidents. Official statements indicate that the case remains under active inquiry as detectives review surveillance footage, analyze purchased and stolen items, and interview witnesses and neighbors for further details.
