Officials provided an update on the heating disruption in the Podolsk microdistrict following a boiler room accident at the Klimovsky Cartridge Plant. Deputy Governor Evgeny Khromushin confirmed that warmth reached the first 20 houses among the 173 affected, marking the initial phase of restoring heat to residents who rely on district heating. This progress was reported by RIA News and reflects the ongoing response to the emergency and the restoration plan being implemented by regional services.
Khromushin noted that one of the three boilers at the plant’s boiler room was actively in operation at the time of the incident, and efforts are underway to stabilize the heating supply across the affected area. The regional authorities have been coordinating with the Podolsk hospital system to accelerate the recovery of heat services for essential facilities and residents alike. As part of the emergency measures, 20 out of 173 apartment buildings began receiving heat again as restoration work continues in the wake of the disruption.
The press service of the Moscow region governor reported that unit number 5 of the Podolsk Regional Clinical Hospital is slated to connect to a block modular boiler room in the near term. In addition, the remaining 153 buildings currently experiencing heating restrictions are expected to be supplied with heat within 24 hours, subject to the progress of repair crews and safety checks. Regional authorities have emphasized a coordinated approach to ensure that households regain reliable heating as quickly as possible, while maintaining safety standards throughout the process.
Earlier, Grigory Artamonov, the head of Podolsk, explained that city officials expect the restoration of heat supply to homes on Vesennaya Street once work on the heating network proceeds in the evening hours following the January 5 incident. The focus remains on restoring warmth to residents who depend on the municipal heating network, with officials monitoring the situation and providing regular updates as repairs advance.
Artamonov also highlighted that after the breakthrough in the heating main line, special attention is being given to the state of heat supply at OIZ No. 5 of the Podolsk Regional Clinical Hospital, where a plan to deliver ten heat guns was announced. The goal is to ensure hospital facilities continue to operate smoothly while the broader heating network is brought back to full function, recognizing the essential role that medical institutions play in the community during emergencies.
In a separate note from the region, a report from Perm described a dispute between neighbors that escalated into a physical confrontation, with residents accusing one another of damaging property. The incident underscores the broader social tensions that can surface during times of communal disruption, though it is not directly connected to the Podolsk boiler room incident. Regional authorities continue to monitor all developments and aim to restore normal living conditions as promptly and safely as possible.
