Civil Guard officers arrested a Ukrainian truck driver after a dangerous episode on a major Spanish highway. The vehicle was weaving through traffic for more than three kilometers, prompting quick action by road safety agents. A breathalyzer test later revealed a level nine times above the legal limit for professionals.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 25 along the A-70 motorway near the interchange with the N-338 in the municipality of Alicante. Members of the Alicante Traffic Detachment were conducting routine surveillance on major transit routes when they observed a hazardous situation developing in real time. The behavior was erratic enough to draw immediate concern from the officers, who stepped in to prevent a potential catastrophe on a busy corridor.
The truck stopped only after its tire blew out, ending a dangerous sequence that had put other road users at serious risk. According to the Civil Guard, the reckless driving caused visible damage to the metal guard rail on the right and to the central median of the highway. The dangerous maneuvering persisted for more than three kilometers, creating a hazardous environment that jeopardized the safety of all motorists in the vicinity.
