Over several days, activity has grown around the plan to establish a Hampton by Hilton hotel in this part of Elche. The project is led by the international hospitality group Hilton. The opening is targeted for January 2025, with an investment exceeding five million euros and 72 guest rooms designed to offer modern comfort and convenience.

Situated as the nearest hotel to Alicante-Elche airport, the property will be just three minutes away and roughly ten to fifteen minutes from Elche and Alicante. The site sits beside the Alicante–El Altet interchange, adjacent to a well-known North American-style hamburger restaurant and a gas station that serve as local landmarks.

Elche’s mayor, Pablo Ruz, together with the Municipal Strategy Counselor Francisco Soler and the Tourism Counselor Irene Ruiz, attended the ground-breaking ceremony on Tuesday. The investment will surpass five million euros, marking the first Hampton by Hilton branded hotel in the area. Construction crews have already begun work on the site.

The mayor of Elche with the project leaders

The mayor emphasized that this well-known hotel brand meets favorable conditions for success, thanks to its strong connectivity, including its proximity to the city center, the airport, and the region’s best beaches. He also highlighted the project as a model of effective public-private collaboration.

More than 4,500 square meters

The future hotel will cover about 4,598 square meters and will offer 72 contemporary rooms spread across three floors. The ground floor will house the main public areas, featuring high-quality services and amenities, including an outdoor terrace with a pool. To accelerate construction and optimize costs, industrial building methods will be employed where suitable.

It is projected that around 50 new jobs will be created, both during construction and in immediate operation thereafter, supporting local employment and economic activity.

“The potential is very high”

The property is owned by the Lo Baró group, with Javier Aleman noting that El Altet represents a destination with substantial untapped potential. He expressed confidence that the new hotel will serve as a strong starting point for further growth in the area.

Officials and project partners celebrate the start of work

Finance and project leadership point to a strategic milestone for the region. Leo Kenyon, Hilton’s project manager, described the plan as a strategic merger within Hilton’s portfolio of major tourist destinations in Spain. He noted that the Hampton by Hilton Alicante project will be the brand’s fourth hotel in Spain, reinforcing Hilton’s footprint in the market. He highlighted the growing appeal of Hampton by Hilton, which operates or has projects in more than 100 locations across Europe. The collaboration with Panoram Hotel Management and Grupo Lo Baró is expected to support the brand’s expansion in the country.

Hampton by Hilton will be managed by Panoram Hotel Management, a leading multis brand hotel management company in Spain. This establishment will join Hampton by Hilton Alcobendas in Madrid and Hampton by Hilton Barcelona Fira Gran Vía, with a future property planned for Malaga in 2024.
