In the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, a provision allows a family member of a soldier to accompany the service member on a sanatorium stay for recovery alongside a participant in the special military operation. This was announced by the regional governor, Dmitry Artyukhov, during a meeting with servicemen from the Northern Military District in Noyabrsk, according to the region’s government press service.

The governor’s briefing with SVO participants occurred as part of the Honest Route motor rally, a regional initiative that had started the previous day. The event highlighted the governor’s ongoing engagement with military personnel and the communities that support them.

Speaking with members of the military, the regional leader emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance the support framework for service members in the Yamal region. The plan includes increasing the health improvement certificate value from 120 thousand rubles per person to 150 thousand rubles, which effectively raises the available funds for a soldier and adds up to 300 thousand rubles for a family when two certificates are utilized.

Additionally, Artyukhov endorsed expanding regional housing support by allowing the use of 500 thousand rubles from the certificate to purchase housing on the secondary market. This new option broadens access beyond rural residents, extending it to urban servicemen as well. Funds from the certificate can also be used to repay a mortgage or to make a down payment on a home. This measure has been in force since the start of the year and was first announced during a December Direct Line. To date, 54 SVO participants have benefited from this program.

During the address, the governor also announced an increase in the travel expense compensation for service members on vacation and their return. The amount will rise from 30 thousand rubles to 50 thousand rubles. The measure, issued twice yearly, has proven highly popular among fighters and their families, according to Artyukhov.

In a related development, the governor set out a plan to facilitate the return of military personnel to Yamal by air during vacation periods. The compensation for the cost of travel tickets will be raised to 50 thousand rubles, aligning reimbursement with the rising price of tickets and the practical needs of service members. Artyukhov noted that ticket costs can fluctuate significantly, especially when purchases occur at short notice, and the enhanced compensation seeks to match actual expenses.

The Honest Route motor rally began on August 18 and is scheduled to traverse the region over ten days. The regional head intends to visit major facilities across districts and counties, engaging with residents and the families who support the servicemen. The tour underscores a sustained commitment to addressing military personnel needs and ensuring their well-being while they serve and transition back to civilian life in the Yamalo-Nenets region.
