The Futurmoda event continues to draw a strong international footprint, with 69% of participants representing Spanish companies and 31% coming from abroad, including Italy, Portugal, France, Germany, Bangladesh, and China. The show reinforces an international offer that aligns with the sector’s current movement and the growth in European participation.

Recent figures indicate that the shoe components sector has regained production capacity, though it has yet to reach the peak levels seen in 2022. The sector remains focused on national production and the sales of shoe components within the country, highlighting the ongoing recovery and resilience of the market.

The footwear and leather goods industries look to Futurmoda as a pivotal moment to connect with suppliers, manufacturers, and buyers. The fair is anticipated to attract more professional visitors and reaffirm its role as a national benchmark for the fashion industry by offering one of the strongest international trade fair experiences in the sector.

Futurmoda will once again feature a robust lineup of machinery companies, technology institutes, certifiers, consultants, and manufacturers across all kinds of equipment, vehicles, and digital solutions. Firms collaborating with major brands will showcase differentiated value through the latest technological advances and Know How in fashion manufacturing.

Exhibitors will present cutting-edge innovations for advanced production in the footwear sector. Highlights include robotics, sensorization, additive manufacturing, 3D printing, direct printing, connectivity, predictive maintenance, and real-time process control, all emblematic of Industry 4.0.

Attendees will access the newest technological developments and software solutions designed to strengthen links between production modules and departments, enable real-time monitoring of orders, productions, and raw material stock, and manage in-store units with precision.

Technological solutions showcased at Futurmoda aim to boost efficiency across the footwear supply chain and drive digital transformation and online sales capabilities.

The fair will also present the latest generation of machines, equipment, and tools to support shoe manufacturing, along with expertise in design and advanced production: scanners, photography, and direct printing; as well as equipment for injection, cutting, punching, gluing, centering, assembly, sanding, marking, molding, polishing, and brushing, among others.

Expert Forum

In addition, technology, health, biomechanics, and sustainability will be key topics in the Expert Forum during the two days of Futurmoda. The conference program will explore these themes through talks, demonstrations, and case studies that reflect current industry priorities.

Sustainability and eco-design remain central areas of interest. The space dedicated to ecological components and materials has grown steadily in recent years. Futurmoda Green Planet plays a clear role as consumer demand shifts toward responsible and sustainable products.

The fair will also showcase involvement from shoe and textile technology institutes, including secondary schools and technical institutes, which will present the latest training programs for the footwear sector. Expert consultants in sustainability and product certification will contribute insights and guidance.

Fashion Trends

The 2024 spring-summer collections will be unveiled with emphasis on alternative recycled materials that support regenerative processes and the development of new, more sustainable products from a circular design perspective.

Areas of focus include materials with vivid, digital-inspired colors balanced by warm neutrals, and the use of bio-produced materials alongside responsibly sourced leather.

Designs that are minimalist, functional, modular, protective, and weather-resistant will take center stage. Vintage and bohemian aesthetics echo the fashion of the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s, offering a fresh take on classic silhouettes.

Indispensable in the Industry, Futurmoda

The season emphasizes recycled and environmentally friendly components, complemented by recycled and bio-based metal finishes featuring modern technological influences and chromatic accents reminiscent of liquid pastels.

Materials such as embedded surfaces in leather, fabric, and solid substrates will be highlighted, alongside structural designs inspired by futuristic concepts and natural woods. Handcrafted fabrics paired with ecological leathers in vibrant, natural hues will be showcased, with a trend toward soft chromatism and iridescence in blues, greens, and yellows. Apricot paste is forecast as a standout color for 2024.

The Spanish Footwear Sub-Industry and Machinery Companies Association continues to oversee the fair, while press attendees will receive guides and trust certificates at a press conference held in the local council hall to summarize the event’s key highlights and outcomes.
