Square Enix revealed a new chapter returning to the world of Athia. Frey Holland takes center stage in fresh downloadable content called Abandoned: We Trust Tanta. This expansion arrives on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store for PlayStation 5 and PC on May 26, 2023.

The extra content pack serves as a prequel to the main game’s story and unfolds 25 years before Forspoken. Frey searches for a way to seal the Tear once and for all, guided by a mysterious voice that leads her to the Purge of Rheddig, the legendary clash that unknowingly shattered Athia. The land is scarred, and the thantas have fallen into turmoil. Accompanied by thanta Cinta and armed with a new set of magical abilities, Frey must uncover the truth and save Athia and herself once again, facing ancient powers and hidden dangers along the way.
Forspoken – Cinematic Trailer
The player assumes the role of Frey Holland, a young woman who must master her evolving magical talents to survive and uncover the many mysteries of the perilous world of Athia. The lead role is portrayed by Ella Balinska, known for her work in Charlie’s Angels. The script draws on the collaboration of Gary Whitta, famed for The Book of Eli, with Amy Hennig, celebrated for her work on the first three Uncharted games, bringing cinematic storytelling to the adventure.

Historically, Frey Holland travels from New York City into the realm of Athia. Along the journey, she must confront monstrous beings and formidable foes while seeking a path home. Throughout the adventure, players will discover how different forms of magic empower Frey to cast powerful spells and navigate this extraordinary land with confidence.
We Trust Tanta will feature Frey fighting alongside the thanta Cinta, utilizing the new magical abilities to unlock strategic combat moves and coordinate devastating combos against the invading Rheddig. The expansion released on May 26, 2023.
