The 44th edition of Fitur drew a combined attendance of 250,000, with 153,000 professionals and over 97,000 visitors taking part on the two public days, Saturday and Sunday. The event marked a 13.7% increase in participation compared with the previous year, underscoring its growing appeal on the global stage.
On the exhibition floor, organizers reported a record surface area and a strengthened international footprint. The fair expanded to nine pavilions, one more than in 2023, and welcomed representation from 152 countries, an increase of 20 compared with the prior edition. Official country participation stood at 96, highlighting the breadth of national engagement and institutional backing. In total, the event featured about 9,000 companies, 806 top-tier participants, and ten monographic chapters along with studies produced by the FiturNext Observatory, collectively enriching the program with diverse tourism insights.
Economic impact figures point to Madrid receiving around 430 million euros in income linked to Fitur activities. The organizer also highlighted strong institutional support for the tourism sector, reflected in high-level attendance and ceremonial commitments linked to the fair’s national and regional leadership. This support helped amplify the event’s profile in the national capital and beyond, forming a visible bridge between policymakers and industry stakeholders.
Among the distinguished guests, Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa served as this year’s Partner Country of the International Tourism Fair, signaling a pivotal collaboration and shared tourism priorities. The event also hosted a formal visit by Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, together with other high-ranking officials, including the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, and representatives of the United Nations World Tourism Organization along with its secretary-general Zurab Pololikashvili. More than ten regional leaders from Spain attended, underscoring the event’s broad political engagement.
In total, more than 400 officials—ministers, foreign ministers, ambassadors, business leaders, and mayors from various regions—were present, reflecting the fair’s expansive diplomatic and economic reach. The social media presence grew significantly in the first two days, adding 10,602 followers across platforms such as Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram, and bringing the total follower count to 311,341. Approximately 860 posts generated over 6.5 million views and more than 83,000 interactions, demonstrating strong audience engagement and real-time coverage that amplified the event’s impact beyond the venue.
