Fempa FP School Graduation Ceremony Highlights and Progressive Vocational Education in the Digital Era

Just a week after Fempa celebrated its 45th anniversary, the Federation hall welcomed a new gathering. More than a hundred attendees filled the space for the graduation ceremony of the Fempa FP 2020-2022 Promotion School cohort. Joaquín Pérez, president of CEV Alicante, attended this milestone event, underscoring the significance of strong collaborations between business and education in shaping the region’s workforce.

From the business community’s perspective, Fempa FP School is committed to enriching formal vocational training with masterclasses and hands-on activities. These experiences are designed with a 100% business orientation, ensuring that graduates enter the labor market ready to meet the demands of the digital age with practical skills and real-world applications. By grounding learning in industry relevance, the school aims to produce the next generation of professionals who can thrive in evolving digital sectors while maintaining a clear focus on applicability and results.

As a recognized centre accredited by the Generalitat Valenciana Department of Education, Fempa Vocational Training School has become a reference point within the province. Its approach centers on highly practical teaching methods, a strong focus on employability, and a language-inclusive program. Students gain digital skills, social and teamwork abilities, and opportunities for internships with local companies. The final phase of the program also includes a dedicated project aimed at fostering job creation and entrepreneurial thinking, enabling graduates to translate knowledge into concrete outcomes in the marketplace.

The federation emphasizes that aligning vocational education with the needs of the productive fabric and labor market remains a top priority. This stance reflects a broader commitment to responsive education that can adapt to shifting industry requirements across sectors and regions, including the evolving landscape of manufacturing, logistics, and digital services in urban centers like Alicante and beyond.

The sustained momentum for Dual VET at Fempa Vocational Training School mirrors growing support from participating companies. This alignment aligns with contemporary reforms in vocational education and job policies that encourage students to combine working with study. Such dual-track models are seen as essential to bridging skills gaps, accelerating career readiness, and expanding pathways into skilled trades and technical roles in North America as well as Europe, highlighting the universality of this approach in fostering workforce resilience.

During the ceremony, special recognition was given to the institutions and companies that supported the Federation throughout the year. Financial aid in the form of scholarships reduced course costs by up to 50 percent for many students, with some cases achieving complete coverage of registration fees. The collaborative effort from partner companies that hosted interns provided invaluable opportunities for students to apply what they learned in classrooms to real workplace settings, reinforcing the practical value of the education delivered by Fempa.

As is customary at the event, the Outstanding Prize was presented to the student with the best academic record, accompanied by a cash award. This tradition highlights the Federation’s commitment to excellence and to rewarding dedication and high achievement among graduates.

In total, Fempa awarded scholarships valued at 200,000 euros to the graduating class. These funds were provided through Corporate Social Responsibility programs as well as contributions from the Federation and cooperating companies, reflecting a broad ecosystem of support that makes education more accessible and opportunities more achievable for aspiring professionals. The impact of these investments extends beyond individual students, fueling broader economic and social benefits through a skilled and motivated workforce.
