Eurovision 2022 in Turin: Spain’s Chanel Leads the Charge as Turin Hosts the 66th Contest

Following Italy’s victory at Eurovision 2021, the 66th edition of the contest is set to take place in Turin. The Eurovision Song Contest will be celebrated from 10-14 May 2022.

The event begins next Tuesday with the first semi-final, followed by the second semi-final on Thursday. The grand final is scheduled for Saturday, May 14, at 21:00. Spain will shine with its entry by Chanel Terrero, who is poised to make a strong impression.

Chanel, a Cuban-Spanish singer, actress and dancer, will perform SloMo on the Pala Alpitour stage, a venue capable of hosting up to 18,000 spectators. Named to represent Spain at Benidorm Fest, Chanel enters the competition as one of the favourites, alongside powerhouse entries from Ukraine, Italy, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Beyond these leading nations, Spain aims to advance through the 35 European countries and Australia, which has joined the lineup after Russia was expelled due to the war in Ukraine. Chanel will perform with a show that channels the energised style of international pop icons, setting the stage for a strong presence among the performers from the participating countries.
