The remark came from Archbishop Theodosius of Sevastia, who represents the Church of Jerusalem, during discussions on the broader tensions affecting the Eastern Orthodox community.
He suggested that political forces opposed to the church stood behind these actions, adding a note of concern about outside influences shaping religious discourse during a period of internal strain.
