Distribution of roles within the gang
The investigation details a sophisticated operation aimed at cocaine trafficking which led to the detention of nine individuals. Authorities report that around 230 kilograms of cocaine were seized in two major Spanish cities, Granada and Madrid, while the Costa del Sol area appears to have been a key hub for the network. In the course of the operation, several searches were conducted across Torremolinos, Marbella, Malaga city, Granada, and the Madrid municipality of San Agustín de Guadalix. In addition to the cocaine, investigators recovered two kilograms of cannabis, a large sum of money amounting to 234,000 euros, a firearm, and five vehicles, with two of them adapted for rapid drug transport. Eight of the nine detainees were placed in custody. (National Police)
The joint effort involved agents from Udyco Costa del Sol and counterparts in Pontevedra. Reports indicate that the group had a persistent record in drug trafficking in both Malaga and Galicia, with links to a Galician clan involved in the illegal trade. The findings suggest that the network maintained ongoing contacts that facilitated cross region activity and reinforced its operational reach. (National Police)
Division of responsibilities within the organization
The organization showed a clear hierarchy and distinct assignments for each member. At the top stood a leader based in Torremolinos, aged around forty two, who directed the national pipeline for acquiring, storing, and distributing cocaine. Working alongside this figure was a female associate of South American origin, also a resident of Torremolinos and connected with the same Galician clan. Her role focused on coordinating drug transport in vehicles prepared for concealment through hydraulic opening mechanisms. These operatives moved cocaine through major hubs to ports and urban centers, including Malaga, Marbella, Granada, and Madrid, where evidence pointed to the use of hidden compartments in vehicles during inspections. Another tier of the network included a shop manager who oversaw a metal sheet and paint facility near an industrial warehouse in Marbella. Law enforcement reported a confrontation site where a rear entrance was blocked by other vehicles, complicating entry, and where a heated vehicle carrying more than eighty kilograms of cocaine and a ready firearm was intercepted. The organization also maintained additional stockpiles in safer locations. A stash site was discovered in a residence in Churriana, Malaga, where more than fifty kilograms of cocaine were found. A separate operation took place in Madrid within the San Agustín de Guadalix district, where thirty additional kilos of cocaine were recovered and the resident arrested in collaboration with the Central Narcotics Brigade. Authorities state that the group operated through a network of distributors within the provinces of Malaga and Granada. Among those involved was a person described as an inspector who was detained in Granada and who had more than 140,000 euros in cash linked to the illegal trade. (National Police)
