The court session over a restraining measure for Ukrainian oligarch Igor Kolomoisky is scheduled for Saturday evening, according to reports from the Ukrainian outlet Strana.ua, which cites unnamed sources.
The publication notes that the hearing will take place in the Shevchenko District Court. It indicates that Kolomoisky is subject to formal suspicion, with prosecutors expected to seek detention accompanied by bail set at up to 600 million hryvnia, roughly equivalent to 16 thousand dollars at current exchange rates.
In autumn 2022, investigators from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine conducted searches near the oligarch in connection with alleged misappropriation related to the Ukrnafta company. Earlier reports in local media suggested that Kolomoisky had lost Ukrainian citizenship, but there has been no official confirmation of this information.
On the morning of September 2, Ukrainian investigators stated that the businessman faced charges for legitimizing illegally obtained property, a claim that adds to the ongoing legal scrutiny surrounding his business affairs.
The Ukrainian outlet Insider reported that documents tied to the case were delivered to Kolomoisky by personnel from the Security Service of Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General, and the Bureau of Economic Security. The article also shared images portraying the businessman amid law enforcement activity and signing official papers, underscoring the gravity of the proceedings.
Separately, in Crimea, authorities reportedly decided to pursue measures that would further strip Ukrainian oligarchs of property within the region, intensifying the broader pressure on high-profile business figures connected to Kyiv’s political and economic landscape.
