Carmen Borrego isolated on Survivor after program medical team decision
Carmen Borrego remains apart from her fellow contestants on the reality show due to a decision by the program’s medical team. The daughter of María Teresa Campos is not enjoying the best stretch on the competition, and she received a surprise during a phone call on Tuesday. For one night, Terelu Campos returned to Telecinco to lift her sister’s spirits.
Before reaching out to Carmen, Terelu spoke briefly with Carlos Sobera, who was checking on her health. A bout of pneumonia had kept him hospitalized for several days, yet he assured fans that progress was being made. “I’m okay, I’m slowly recovering. I’m in Malaga, during Holy Week. You have to walk everywhere here, but it’s good for the lungs to heal gradually,” Terelu shared.
The name of María Teresa Campos, who passed away last September, also came up in the conversation. Amid Easter—a significant time for the family’s communicator—Terelu noted how much they all miss him: “But this year it feels closer than last year. It’s on a different level, yet closer.” (Fuente: Telecinco, informacíon reciente)
Meanwhile, Terelu commented on the news that her sister Carmen’s son José María Almoguera and Paola Olmedo had ended their relationship. “Relationships are part of life. I won’t discuss my nephew’s private life because I don’t share that information,” said the former host of Sálvame. “What this means for my nephew matters to me, especially when my own daughter is navigating her life and choices.”
Carmen collapses while remembering her mother
Minutes later, Terelu finally spoke with Carmen. “Everything is fine, everything is calm. You don’t know how much we all care about you, and what family conversations are like. Today I stood before our father and I know he will protect you there. My mother would do the same.”
“You are the soul of the Survivors cast,” Terelu affirmed, trying to provide emotional support and highlighting the positive aspects the program has offered despite the challenges. “You don’t know what this country is going through right now, and this show has brought drama and resilience into many lives.”
“It’s incredibly hard, but it’s a memory I will carry forever. The experience has helped me grow, and it has shown me that much more can be achieved. Carmen reassured Terelu before the latter offered her own counsel: “Keep an eye on what we’re discussing. The mind is our strongest ally and sometimes our toughest opponent.”
Yet a moment of truth arrived when the memory of her mother’s absence overwhelmed her. “Life goes on after such losses. There are moments when you feel completely alone on a beach, waiting for someone who is not there. It’s enough to shake anyone’s grip, and it makes you realize the emptiness left behind,” she admitted tearfully. The moment spoke to the raw emotional toll of the journey and the weight of family memories on the show’s participants.
“Of course you’re being watched over. You’re a believer like me. Faith provides protection and keeps us going. I only want to see you safe and not suffering,” Terelu told her sister, offering steadfast encouragement and shared strength through the trial of the competition.
