The Calp Civil Guard’s Investigation Unit began the inquiry several months earlier, gradually locating addresses where indoor cannabis crops were being grown.

Investigators identified all members of the gang and mapped the role each played within the operation, revealing a structured organization with a clear leadership and defined responsibilities.

Following the accumulation of evidence, the case proceeded to the formal investigation phase on March 23. The Civil Guard, with authorization, conducted searches and entered seven luxury villas in different Calp urbanizations, leading to the detention of seven individuals of diverse nationalities aged between 30 and 61.

All detainees were placed under the jurisdiction of the Dénia Court of Investigation, with six of the seven individuals, including the alleged leader, ordered to remain in custody while bail was set. Authorities noted prior police records for some suspects in their countries of origin.
