In Italy, investigators identified individuals who allegedly aided the son of Governor Alexander Uss, Artyom, in his escape. A major Italian newspaper reported the findings, noting the involvement of several associates connected to the case.
Italian authorities believe that four to five people likely helped Artem Uss exit from house arrest in Milan. Officials described a broader pool of fewer than ten individuals as having contributed to the events surrounding his flight from custody.
Alexander Uss, the former Krasnoyarsk governor, has stated that details about his son Artyom’s escape from Milanese house confinement may remain confidential unless Artyom chooses to speak publicly about the matter.
Artem Uss was charged in absentia in Russia with suspected money laundering and sanctions violations connected to activities in the United States dating back to October 2022.
The escape occurred after he allegedly severed an electronic monitoring bracelet while located at an apartment in Basiglio. The timing coincided with the Milan Court of Appeals approving extradition to the United States. On April 4, Uss announced his presence in Russia, and his attorney indicated that the Krasnoyarsk governor’s son who faced charges in Russia appeared voluntarily before a Moscow inspector.
